This is a small selection of clients which we've been fortunate enough to work with. Each presented different challenges and obstacles, but made for an enjoyable experience on all ends. Hopefully these descriptions and sample images give you a better idea of what we do, and how we do it.
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment
We have worked with MLSE for two seasons. Our role is to provide documentation which they can then show to their global advertising partners. This requires us to attend every Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs's game, as well as all of their off site promotional events and press conferences. At the games we document digital signage, promotional activations, and general atmosphere always while keeping branding in mind. Off site events have included promotional inter-squad games, concerts, season ticket deliveries with players, receptions, etc... All of these situations require adaptability and efficiency to deal with constantly changing environments and strict time restrictions. MLSE has been a pleasure to work with.
Nova Scotia SPCA | Dartmouth, NS.
While living in Halifax, we regularly photographed animals available for adoption at the Dartmouth SPCA. By photographing the animals without the context of the shelter, the negative connotations generally associated with shelter animals were removed and gave people a chance focus on the animals. The shelter saw a noted increase in adoptions as a result, and we had an great time playing with all the animals. These images also yielded an exhibition at the Anna Leonwens gallery in Halifax entitled "Shelter Dogs" in October of 2009. This exhibition showcased 34 of our most memorable images as 16x20" black and white prints aiming to create a dialogue in the community about buying animals from pet stores versus adopting animals from shelters.
TIC Travel Insurance Coordinators | Toronto, ON
We were contracted by TIC to shoot a series of environmental portraits of some of their employees while doing some of their favorite hobbies and activities. These images were used as part of a recent advertising campaign to show a more personal side of some of the TIC employees. This was a great shoot, and we really enjoyed working with TIC.
Friction Climbing Holds | Toronto, ON.
Friction is a Canadian company which sculpts and manufactures artificial rock climbing holds. Their notoriety came of the attention to detail which went into every shape they produced. We spent some time together photographing their line of products for their new website. We enjoyed working with the owner, Luigi Montilla who runs a down to earth operation here in Toronto.
Ambient Squared Marketing | Austin, TX.
We began working with A2 while shooting another assignment in Halifax. They create and execute marketing campaigns for a variety of clients. We were brought in to document the Ice Cream Truck campaign they put together for BMO, and their pop up shops which were created for IKEA. The emphasis was to capture their teams interacting with the public while keeping branding visible. They have been a lot of fun to work with and we look forward to what's next with A2.
Mosaic Sales Solutions Canada Operating Co. | Toronto, ON
Mosaic has contracted us several times in the past to document their marketing strategies in the field. This has included shooting their sales teams interacting with the public, accompanying their team while delivering Budweiser Redlights , and attending the TD Inside the Art banquet. They wanted to see people interacting with their teams with an emphasis on integrating the branding into the images. These shoots require us to move fast and adapt quickly to constant changes without sacrificing image quality.
Canaccord Wealth Management | Halifax, NS.
Canaccord Wealth Management got in touch with us through the rescue agency we fostered dogs through and asked us to produce an image of a recently adopted dog to be featured in their Holiday Season Come To The Rescue campaign. This Ad was shot in the family's living room and ran in Halifax, NS. as a BillBoard and a Busboard. The featured dog is named Echo, what a sweetheart!
Tim Labenda Apparel | Halifax, NS.
When we met Tim, he was completing his Thesis work at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS. He came to Halifax from Germany to attend NSCAD and we had the opportunity to document some of his work for him before he returned home to Germany. Tim's attention to detail in his clothing and choice of materials made our job a lot easier. The only downside was freezing on a Halifax beach in November! Regardless we had a great time working with Tim.
Tour De Bloc
The Tour De Bloc is the national competitive climbing series in Canada. Every year the Tour makes stops all over Canadian rock climbing gyms and hosts competitions on a local, regional, and at the end of the year, national level. We have been producing images from this series for the past several years which have been featured on the Tour De Bloc website, in Gripped Climbing Magazine, and various other outlets.
Climb Nova Scotia | Halifax, NS.
Climb Nova Scotia (CNS) is a non-profit, volunteer based group dedicated to promoting and facilitating climbing throughout Nova Scotia. For them we produced images to be used in various print and web applications including 20x24" promotional posters and information pamphlets. CNS is a fantastic organization as are the people involved and we couldn't be happier to have worked with them.
